One of my recent discoveries was several pieces of Russian Space Art, including those by Alexey Leonov and others that appear in "The Stream of the Stars." It was also interesting hearing some of the stories behind the art, as Leonov and the others were at the house when he acquired them.Lonnie is a former Lt. Gov. of NV., and now retired neurosurgeon of the stars. He also was a little closer to the stars.....having been selected for the Apollo astronaut program, but his vision didn't pass their requirements, so he stayed on as a flight surgeon. He also has some of his own space art creations and models, made from various items collected over the years.Doc. opens up his collection to the public every Nevada Day weekend in Oct, at his Hammargren Home of Nevada History. He's just beginning to get online virtual tours going, and hopes to expand these to full screen with identifiable hotspots.http://www.nevadadays.org/

If you’re ever in Las Vegas the last weekend in Oct., the collector of everything Las Vegas, NV., medicine, and space, Dr. Lonnie Hammargren has a pretty wild collection.
